1999 Chrysler Concorde Transponder key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Chrysler key programming isn't a dealer-only job. It hasn't been for years. The car's SKIM or WCM module checks the transponder chip through the ignition coil or through a proximity antenna on push-to-start models. Programming a new key means entering the PIN code and telling that module to accept one more chip. I do it through the OBD port with a cable and a computer. No dealer bay, no lift, no Chrysler-only software.
A weekend reseller at a swap meet parking field in Thousand Oaks was certain his 1999 Chrysler Concorde needed to go back to the dealer for a new FOBIK. His car sat in the same field the entire time and he paid about 95. Dealer wanted 200 and an appointment next week. The car doesn't know whether the FOBIK was programmed in a dealer bay or a dirt parking field. The security handshake is identical either way.
