2001 Chrysler Concorde Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A woman near Birnam Wood area in Montecito called me from the parking lot of the urgent care off East Valley Road. She needed a spare transponder key for her 2001 Chrysler Concorde and she had done her homework before picking up the phone.
She told me flat out: her last locksmith had no license. She only figured that out after the job, when the receipt had no company name, no license number, and a callback number that went dead a week later. This time she looked up my BSIS license, LCO 6792, before she even dialed. Found it on the public registry. That was what made her call.
I got there and checked her original key. Y160-PT blank, PCF7935 transponder chip, SKIM system reading clean with no fault codes stored in the module. Cut the new blade to her existing key using my Condor, then programmed the transponder through the OBD port with the factory PIN pulled from the NASTF database. The SKIM on these second-gen LH platform cars needs that PIN to register a new key. Without NASTF access, a tech is guessing or using workaround methods that can leave fault codes like "SKIM Key Not Learned" stored in the PCM.
Whole thing took about 20 minutes. She got a real receipt with a real license number and a real phone number that still works if she calls it next year.
