Got a GPS pin from a guy near Oakbrook Plaza in Thousand Oaks. His 1998 Chrysler Concorde was sitting in a parking lot and the only key he had was toast. The plastic bow had split right along the seam, and the transponder chip inside had shifted just enough that the SKIM antenna ring couldn't read it anymore. The whole sequence on these 1996 to 2001 SKIM systems is pretty direct once you pull the code. No online authentication, no gateway nonsense. Just the module, the chip, and the right equipment.
Turned the key, engine caught and held, SKIM light went out after a couple seconds like it should. He sat there for a moment watching the dash, like he was waiting for it to stall again.
It did not. He drove off with a working key for a fraction of what the dealer route plus tow would have run him.
