2003 Chrysler Concorde Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In Montecito, near San Ysidro Ranch, a choir director flagged me down in a church parking lot on a Sunday. She said she'd already been burned. Another locksmith had come out, charged her full price for a new transponder key on her 2003 Chrysler Concorde, and the car would crank but the engine died after two seconds every time. Classic SKIM rejection. The other tech told her the module was bad and left.
The module was fine. The tech had not completed the full security learn procedure. Chrysler's SKIM system on this generation requires the correct PIN code and a timed handshake between the key's PCF7935 chip and the SKIM module (part number 04602254 on most second-gen LH cars). If you skip a step or enter the wrong PIN, the key data writes temporarily but never commits to permanent memory.
I used my Y160 Lishi to verify the mechanical cut was correct. It was. Then I connected through the OBD port with my IM608, pulled the PIN from the SKIM, cleared the failed key data, and ran a clean learn with the full security cycle. Her key started the car with no two-second fuel cutoff. I showed her the confirmed key ID on my screen.
She had already paid the first locksmith, and I could not undo that. But I could make sure the job was actually done right this time. She drove home with a working car.
