I got a call from a guy up in Montecito, in the Upper Village area, who needed a spare key for his 2004 Concorde. He was not stranded, which was a nice change. He just wanted a working backup before the day came that he actually needed one.
He met me in the parking area near his place and handed me his original. It was worn down noticeably, the kind of key that's been on a heavy ring for years and has a few small nicks on the cut. He said it sometimes took two or three tries to get the ignition to turn, which is exactly the thing you ignore until it strands you.
