A restaurant owner at his driveway in Oxnard had exactly that story. His only fob to his 2009 Lincoln Town Car cracked when he dropped it on concrete. The shell split, the emergency blade popped out, and the circuit board was exposed. Zero working keys.
I checked the circuit board and the electronics were still intact inside the cracked housing. That saved time because I didn't need a full erase and reprogram. I moved the working board into a new shell, cut a fresh HU101 emergency blade from the door lock decode, and verified that the existing fob ID still matched the car. His fob, FCC ID CWTWB1U793, was a 3-button Intelligent Access key that I rebuilt into a new housing.
He went from zero keys to two in about 40 minutes. Total was around 185. A full AKL would cost more, and the dealer wanted 395 either way. If you have the broken pieces, bring them.
