Got a call from a rideshare driver sitting at a tire shop near the Pleasant Valley area in Oxnard. He had a rough week with his 2003 Lincoln Town Car. He'd already called one of those cheap-ad locksmiths off Google. Guy showed up, cut a key, and charged him heavy. The key turned the ignition fine, but the engine would crank for a second and die. Theft light flashing like crazy on the instrument cluster. Classic PATS rejection. The blade was cut right, but the transponder was never programmed to the PCM.

Programmed his new H75 key with the 4C transponder chip, ran the 10-minute security access procedure, and the PCM accepted the key on the first pass. Theft light proved out, went solid, then off. Engine fired clean.
He sat in the driver's seat for a second, turned it off, turned it back on, just to make sure. I get that.
Whole thing took about 30 minutes on site, for a fraction of what the dealer quoted him over the phone.
