2004 Audi TT Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
She was standing in a rental return lot near Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, early morning, already stressed. She had checked out of her hotel an hour earlier, returned a rental car, walked over to her own 2004 Audi TT parked in the lot, and reached into her bag. No key.
She called the hotel. They searched the room and said nothing turned up. The key was gone. She had a flight in six hours.
The Audi dealer told her the earliest appointment was next week. I told her I could be there in about 35 minutes.
When I arrived, I had everything I needed. The TT's flip key uses a transponder chip that has to be enrolled to the car's immobilizer, so cutting the blade alone doesn't get you anywhere. I pulled the immobilizer PIN through the OBD port, which is how you do this on these older Audi platforms without tearing apart the dash. Then I cut a fresh blade to match her lock, programmed the transponder chip, and synced the 4-button remote functions. Lock, unlock, trunk release, start. All four tested and working before I packed up.
She drove to the airport with time to spare. The dealer would have had her waiting a week, without a car, probably extending the rental.
That part always gets mentioned as an afterthought. She saved a good chunk. But mostly she made her flight.
