2006 Audi TT Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
There's a Euro shop out in the Live Oak Park Area of Fallbrook that calls me when the job has already gone sideways. This one was a 2006 Audi TT, coupe, sitting on their lot after another locksmith had attempted an all-keys-lost job and walked away mid-process.
The problem was the immobilizer module. The previous tech lost communication partway through the key registration sequence. Power may have dropped, or the software lost its handshake with the module. Either way, the module was in a locked state and wouldn't acknowledge anything through the OBD port. The shop's own scan tool couldn't even establish a session with it. The car would turn over and immediately die.
I pulled the immobilizer module and moved to bench work. Reading the EEPROM directly off the chip let me pull the data the OBD port wouldn't hand over anymore. I sent that data to a calculation server, got back a working file, generated fresh keys from it, reinstalled the module, and ran OBD key learning to tie everything together. The flip key was cut to the vehicle and the remote functions were paired after.
From the time I pulled into that lot to the time the TT left under its own power was just under two hours. Not a fast job, but a finished one. The shop owner told me the customer had already gotten a dealer quote that made bench recovery look like a bargain. I didn't argue with that.
