I was coming down Torrey Pines Road on a Tuesday when the call came in. Guy had his 2013 Chrysler 300 parked near the bluffs in Del Mar and his key fob had gone completely dark. No lock, no unlock, nothing. He'd already swapped the CR2032 himself at a nearby CVS, twice, and it made no difference.

He'd been a few minutes away from calling the dealer and resigning himself to a tow and a two-day wait. The job took under twenty minutes in the parking area off Torrey Pines. He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer route would have cost him, and he drove out the same afternoon.
