2007 Chrysler Sebring
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2007 Chrysler Sebring Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A fleet van driver at an oil change shop in San Ysidro Village called me because his company's 2007 Chrysler Sebring was in a bad spot. Not broken down, just burned.

He'd already dealt with one of those bait-and-switch locksmith operations, the ones running fake listings, dispatching from a call center, and quoting one price on the phone while tripling it at the car. He'd been quoted one number and charged nearly ten times that. The remote head key sort of worked after they touched it. Car would start. That was it. All six buttons were dead.

First thing he asked me, before he even told me what the car needed, was how to verify I was real. I gave him my BSIS license number on the phone and told him to look it up on the state website while we were still talking. He did. That was the whole vetting process, thirty seconds and a government database.

I came out to him in San Ysidro Village. The transponder side had been registered, which is why the car started, but the remote pairing was incomplete. That's the kind of half-job that happens when someone uses underpowered equipment or rushes through the sequence. I went back through the full programming procedure, both the transponder enrollment and the remote registration, and ran through every button before I called it done.

He asked what the dealer would have charged. I told him to call and find out. He did, right there. Saved a good chunk. And his key actually worked when I left.
