2012 Dodge Avenger Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was already out near Ramona Highlands when the call came in. A nurse practitioner said she needed a spare key for her 2012 Dodge Avenger.
Before she booked, she told me she had looked up the license number. Her last locksmith experience had gone badly: no paperwork, no way to reach anyone afterward, and a key that stopped working inside two weeks. She wanted to know who she was dealing with before she handed over her car.
That is a reasonable thing to ask. My California locksmith license is public record through the BSIS website. She had already checked it. By the time I pulled up, we were past introductions.
The Avenger was parked in her driveway. She had one working key and wanted a second one cut and programmed. I confirmed the key type, verified the transponder was reading correctly on the working key, and got to work. The remote head key blade was cut to her vehicle on site, and then I ran the programming sequence through the OBD port to enroll the new key into the immobilizer and register the remote functions. Both keys tested clean: start, lock, unlock, trunk, all of it.
She watched the whole thing from the porch. When I handed her the second key, she tested it herself twice before she said anything. Then she just asked about the receipt.
Real receipt. Itemized. My name, my license number, my phone number. She said the dealer had quoted her a number that made her hesitate long enough to look for another option. She found me instead and paid a fraction of what they wanted. That part was almost an afterthought by the time we were done.
