2014 Dodge Avenger
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2014 Dodge Avenger Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in the Brown Field Area of Otay Mesa, I pulled up to a youth sports complex on a Tuesday afternoon. The guy waiting by a white Avenger was a football coach, kids running drills maybe fifty yards away and a bed of equipment bags visible through the rear window. He had one question before I even got out of the van: what happens if it stops working?

That is a fair question. He told me he had already gone to the dealer once before for something unrelated and waited almost two weeks. He could not do that with a vehicle this active in the family rotation.

I told him the same thing I tell everyone: I stand behind the work. If something fails on my end, I come back to wherever the car is, no service call, no argument. That is not a policy in a binder. That is just me driving back out.

I pulled the job together on the hood of my van. Cut the replacement key blade to his vehicle, programmed the remote head key through the OBD port using the PIN retrieval process the immobilizer requires, and ran the full test sequence: start, lock, unlock, and remote range from a distance. Then I waited about five minutes and ran it again, because intermittent pairing issues sometimes hide until the system has a chance to settle.

The coach watched the whole thing. When the doors locked on the first button press from across the parking lot, he nodded and went back to his drills. He paid a fraction of what the dealer had quoted him for the same job.

That is the whole story. Key made, key works, coach got back to work.
