A driver in Otay Mesa West called me on a Tuesday afternoon. He had a working spare for his 2020 Ford Fusion, so he was not locked out, but his primary fob had stopped being recognized anywhere near the car. That alone fixed it. The fob paired right back up without any reprogramming because the key was never actually de-registered from the system. It had just been starving for power.
He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer was going to charge, and I was out of his driveway in under thirty minutes. The part that stuck with me was that he almost let them order a whole new fob for a battery problem.
