2024 Genesis G80 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Not every Genesis owner lives near a dealership. There are only about 140 Genesis dealers in the entire country. A vineyard manager on a winery estate outside Imperial Beach had a 2024 Genesis G80 that needed a new key. The nearest Genesis dealer was over an hour each way. Getting the vehicle there meant either a long drive on one key or an expensive tow. Neither option worked during harvest season.

I worked on the vehicle at the winery. His Genesis uses a Hyundai-family smart key system, same platform underneath the luxury badge. I used my VVDI2 to pull the PIN and program a new fob. His smart key, FCC ID TQ8-FOB-4F35, was a 7-button fob that I built, cut, and tested at the estate.
He had two working keys before I left. Total was around $265. The dealer route would have been $450 plus two hours of driving or a long-distance flatbed. For Genesis owners outside metro areas, mobile service isn't a perk. It's the only practical option.
