2009 Hyundai Azera Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a staffing agency worker at 7:45 in the morning. She was parked at the lot off the East Lemon Grove side of things, waiting to get her assignment, and her 2009 Azera wasn't going anywhere.
The key she had was a copy someone made for her at a hardware store. Blade worked fine. Car would crank, then die. She thought the battery was bad or the starter was going. She had to be at a job site by 8:30. Missing it meant losing the placement for the day.
I was there in under 20 minutes.
She had one original key still on her ring, which changed the whole job. With a working key present, the add-a-key path was open. I cut a new blade to match her lock, then walked through the onboard enrollment sequence using her original as the seed key. The replacement transponder got registered to the immobilizer without needing to pull codes or connect to a diagnostic port. Total hands-on time was about 25 minutes, most of that on the blade.
She tested it herself, twice, before I packed up. Cranked clean both times, held idle, no stall.
She made the job site on time. She mentioned the dealer had told her they couldn't look at it until the following week. Even if they could, she would have needed a tow, a rental, and a few days she didn't have.
