A wine collector at a vineyard estate outside San Marcos needed exactly that. His fob, FCC ID KOBJTF10A, was a 5-button smart key. When I opened it up, the antenna board was damaged from moisture. So I swapped the chip to a fresh fob and programmed it on-site. He was pretty impressed it could all happen next to a barrel cave.
His car started on that vineyard gravel. Total was around $415. A dealer would have charged $732 plus a tow from a vineyard no flatbed was reaching easily.
