2004 Jaguar S-Type Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was working the CSUSM area on a Tuesday afternoon when a call came in from a guy parked near the campus edge, somewhere around Twin Oaks Valley Road. His 2004 Jaguar S-Type. The flip blade had snapped clean off at the pivot, which happens on these after enough years of being yanked out of pockets. He had the blade in one hand and the fob housing in the other.
He had already been to a hardware store. They told him they could not cut it. Then he called a Jaguar dealer and was quoted a wait that stretched into the following week, plus a number that made him go quiet on the phone for a second.
I pulled up, took a look at the fob, and the housing was intact. The transponder inside was fine. I cut a replacement blade to the vehicle, fitted it into the housing at the pivot, and tested it in the door and the ignition. The remote buttons all worked. The car started without any complaint from the immobilizer.
The whole thing took about twenty minutes in his parking spot. He had a class to get back to. He made it.
The dealer quote barely came up. He just thanked me and walked back toward campus.
