Push-to-start all-keys-lost on a newer Jaguar is the job that worries owners the most. No key slot, no way to physically turn anything. The car needs to wirelessly detect a smart fob registered to its KVM before it will start. If that fob is gone, the car feels dead, but it isn't.
A corporate attorney from out of state at the spa resort valet in Rancho Bernardo on a Saturday night had a 2007 Jaguar S-Type with Keyless-Go and zero keys. I drove to the resort. AKL on newer Jaguar push-to-start cars requires reading the KVM module to extract the security data. I used my ACDP to clip directly to the KVM board, read the EEPROM and D-Flash without soldering, computed the key data, and wrote it to a new smart fob. His fob, FCC ID KR55WK49244, was a 5-button proximity key.
His car started in the resort valet lane on a Saturday night. Total was around $373. Dealer would have been $669 plus a multi-day wait stranding him out of state. He told me he'd been dreading having to extend his hotel booking for the whole week.
