A college student near the CSUSM area in San Marcos had already paid someone who didn't finish the job. Another locksmith had attempted to program a key to his 2019 Jeep Compass, stalled out halfway through, left fault codes sitting in the wireless control module, and then charged him for the attempt anyway.
