I got a call from a guy in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, parked behind a shop off Convoy Street. He had one key left for his 2002 Jeep Liberty and it had snapped at the base of the blade, still stuck in the door lock. His backup was gone. He needed a working key the same afternoon.

I connected to the OBD port, ran the security access sequence, and enrolled the new key.
He watched the whole thing. When I turned the key and the Liberty started and stayed running, he exhaled like he had been holding his breath since the blade snapped. He asked me how long it would have taken at the dealer. I told him to think days, not hours. He just nodded.
Total time on site was about 40 minutes. He drove off with a key that worked and a story about the locksmith who showed up in a van on Convoy.
