Do you need to tow your 2011 Kia Forte to the dealer? Probably not. For most Kia models from the mid-2000s through about 2022, I handle all-keys-lost right at the car.

I connected my Smart Pro to OBD and ran the Kia smart key AKL procedure. The system erases all old keys and learns fresh ones in a single session. His Smart Key, FCC ID SY5HMFNA04, was a 4-button proximity fob with an emergency blade inside. I programmed it in his driveway at midnight.
His total was about $248. Dealer would have been $439 plus a tow. Some of the newest 2023+ Kia platforms with security gateways may need the dealer for AKL, and I'll tell you upfront. But for the vast majority on the road, I do all-keys-lost on-site regularly.
