2019 Lexus LC Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy who had pulled off near Buena Creek, sitting in his 2019 Lexus LC trying to stay calm about a broken key. The blade had snapped inside the ignition cylinder.
Half the key was still in the lock, half was sitting in his palm. He had already called one other locksmith, who heard "broken key in a Lexus LC" and went straight to quoting a full ignition replacement over the phone.
When I got there, the situation was cleaner than the other quote suggested. The fragment was not wedged deep. I extracted it carefully using a dedicated extraction tool, working around the wafer surfaces without disturbing them. Then I decoded the lock from what I could read, cut a fresh key blade to match, and paired it to the vehicle's immobilizer system through the diagnostic port.
The original cylinder was fine. The lock decoded clean. His fob was undamaged, so the remote functions were already set. He just needed the mechanical piece cut right and the new key enrolled so the car would recognize it.
When I handed it back and he turned it over in his hand, he said something like, "that's it?" That reaction happens a lot on jobs where someone else already told them it would be a bigger deal.
The other locksmith's approach would have been a new cylinder, new keys, and a bill that reflected all of that. His original lock still works exactly the way it left the factory. That is the whole point.
