2022 Lexus RC Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
He got back from a business trip Tuesday afternoon, walked out to the airport premium lot in Rancho Bernardo, and the 2022 Lexus RC just sat there. Pressed the fob, nothing. Held it directly to the start button the way someone must have told him to try, nothing. The CR2032 had drained while the car sat for a week and the signal was completely gone.
The dealer's earliest available slot was Thursday. A tow out of a premium lot was going to cost him most of the afternoon and a real chunk of money on top of that.
He found EZ Car Keyz on his phone right there in the lot.
I was there within 35 minutes. Got the door open with the mechanical blade tucked inside the fob, connected my diagnostic equipment at the OBD port, and pulled up the key registration data. Both his fobs were still enrolled in the vehicle security system. The issue was exactly what it looked like: dead battery had broken communication, and the car had logged a fault that was keeping things unresponsive even after he had already tried swapping the battery on his own. He had used a cheap battery from the airport gift shop and the voltage was marginal.
I put a proper CR2032 in, cleared the stored fault, and walked every function: door handles, start button, lock, unlock, all four buttons. Everything came back clean. Twenty minutes on site.
He drove home that afternoon. The dealer route would have meant two days in a queue, a tow bill, and a lot of waiting around. This was none of that.
