Porsche key programming isn't a dealer-only procedure on most models from the mid-2000s through the mid-2010s. The car's immobilizer or KESSY module checks the key through an encrypted exchange. Programming a new key means reading that module, calculating the security codes, and writing the correct data to a blank fob. I do it through the OBD port or, when needed, directly from the module on my bench.
