2012 Porsche Boxster Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A trail runner up near Ramona Highlands came back from a canyon run and realized his key was gone. Not "left it in the cup holder" gone -- actually lost on the trail. He backtracked, asked around, nothing. His 2012 Boxster was sitting in the trailhead lot, locked, and he had no spare.
He called me and I told him I could make it out there that afternoon. Mobile job, no tow needed, no dealer wait.
Getting inside without a key on these takes the right tools and patience. Once I was in, I connected to the vehicle, pulled the security data I needed, calculated the credentials, and built a working replacement key on site. The transponder got enrolled, the blade got cut to the car, and I made him a second one while I had everything set up. Smart move on his part -- losing your only Porsche key once is enough of a lesson.
His car started right there in the same lot where it had been sitting. He didn't need a flatbed, didn't need to wait days for a dealer appointment, and the total was a fraction of what a dealer would have charged just for parts alone. The dealer would have also needed the car there in person, which would have meant a tow from a trailhead no flatbed was getting to quickly anyway.
The trail didn't give the key back. The job still got done.
