Over in Rancho Del Oro, a college student called me about her 2011 Volkswagen Passat. She'd bought it used, got one key with it, and that was the plan until the plan fell apart.
The flip hinge on the key housing had been cracking slowly for weeks. She knew it was going but kept using it.
