2005 Volvo Xc70 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A physical therapist over in the Torrey Pines area of Del Mar caught it at the worst time. She was between patients, clinic lot, midday. Her 2005 XC70 remote flip key had cracked at the hinge and the blade was working loose. Not dead yet, but close enough that she was nursing it every time she turned the ignition.
The nearest Volvo dealer was over half an hour up the highway. She had patients booked back to back the rest of the afternoon. A dealer trip meant a tow, a wait, and probably days out for the appointment. None of that was happening on a Tuesday.
I pulled into the clinic lot during her lunch gap. Read the existing working key through the OBD port, cut a replacement blade to match her lock, and built out a new five-button remote flip key. Programmed it, tested every button, confirmed the immobilizer accepted it, and handed her two working keys before she walked back in for her next appointment.
Her car never left the lot. She didn't reschedule a single patient. The dealer comparison came up after the fact, almost as an afterthought, and she said she saved a good chunk just on the tow alone.
