When a 2010 Audi A4 key is done wrong, it does not just partially work. It fails. The engine might crank but the immobilizer kills fuel injection after two seconds. Her fob also had a low CR2032 battery making the intermittent detection worse.
The replacement has been working since. Her cost was 278. The dealer would have charged 512. The difference between a key that works and one that works for a week is chip accuracy.
