2015 Audi A4 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A European auto specialist shop near Ventura River Preserve in Ventura called me about a 2015 A4 that was completely bricked. Another locksmith had attempted all-keys-lost on the BCM2 smart key system, lost connection mid-read, and the module locked up. The OBD port returned nothing. No immobilizer response, no key acceptance, no communication at all.
The shop tech had already tried re-powering the module and running a fresh OBD session. Dead end. The customer was sitting in the waiting room.
I brought my ACDP and pulled the BCM2 from the car. The BCM2 board on these B8.5 A4s uses an encrypted EEPROM chip that stores the immobilizer data, and when a read fails partway through, it can corrupt the key table and lock the module into a state where OBD tools just bounce off it. The fix is a bench read. I connected directly to the chip, pulled the encrypted dump, sent it to the calculation server, and got back a recovery file that let me rebuild the key data and re-initialize the immobilizer.
Generated a fresh 4-button proximity fob, part number 8T0959754G, reinstalled the module, and ran OBD key learning. Tested comfort access on all four doors, the trunk button, push-to-start, and remote range from about 30 feet.
Two hours start to finish, which is longer than a normal key job. But the alternative was shipping the BCM2 out to a remote recovery service and waiting days, or towing to the dealer. The car left the shop running that same afternoon.
