Late call in the West Beach area of Santa Barbara. A hospitalist finishing an overnight shift at the hospital nearby needed a spare for her 2005 Audi A4. She told me she had already looked up my BSIS license, LCO 6792, before dialing. Works alone, leaves after midnight, parks in a dim garage. Tested both keys, cycled the immobilizer, confirmed no faults stored. She flipped the new key open and closed a couple of times, like she was checking if the spring would hold. It will.

The whole job took about 25 minutes. Dealer would have needed an appointment, probably days out, and charged a good chunk more. She got it done on the spot between shifts.
