2013 Audi A4 Smart key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Her wedding flower delivery was sitting in the back of her 2013 Audi A4 in July heat. Peonies and garden roses with about an hour before they started wilting beyond use. Her smart key had died in the flower shop parking lot in Oxnard, close to The Collection at RiverPark and the car was locked with the AC off and windows up. She needed in and she needed the car running before the arrangements were ruined.

She called the Audi dealer. Earliest slot was tomorrow afternoon. She called me. I was 20 minutes away.

I got the door open and the AC running first to save the flowers. Then I plugged my IM608 into the OBD port under the dash. The IM608 reads the Audi immobilizer and identifies exactly what the car needs to accept a new key or reset an existing one. Her smart key, FCC ID IYZFBSB802, was a 4-button smart fob with comfort access. The old fob's CR2032 battery had leaked inside the housing and corroded one of the internal antenna contacts beyond repair. I replaced the fob entirely, programmed the new one through OBD, and tested every function including comfort access detection from outside the car.

From her phone call to the engine running was 43 minutes. Total was 95. The dealer wanted 200 and a tomorrow appointment. The flowers made it to the wedding venue alive. She did not lose a $3,000 floral order because of a dead key battery.
