Worst case on a 2010 Jaguar XJ is when a previous tech attempted all-keys-lost, something went wrong during the KVM bench read, and the module is now locked or partially corrupted. Power interruption mid-read, wrong wiring diagram, or failure to save the original EEPROM dump before writing. The car won't accept any key until the KVM is recovered.

I brought my ACDP for the bench recovery. I read the KVM, recovered the original dump, generated a fresh key file, wrote it to a new smart fob, and reinstalled the module. His fob, FCC ID KR55WK49244, was a 5-button proximity key. I showed the shop team what went wrong so they'd know what to tell customers if it ever came up again.
Total job time was about two hours, which is longer than normal. His bill was 356. The alternative was shipping the KVM or towing to the dealer for 644 or more. The car left the shop running that afternoon.
