2003 Jaguar XJ Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A Euro specialist shop near the Carpinteria Valley Museum called me about a 2003 XJ that was completely dead to every key. Another locksmith had attempted an all-keys-lost job, tried to bench-read the KVM's EEPROM, and something went wrong mid-process. Power interruption, no backup of the original dump. The module locked up. The car would not recognize any fob, and the dash just sat there blank when you pressed start.
The shop had already called the Jaguar dealer. Tow it down, ship the KVM out, wait a week or more. They wanted another option.
I brought my ACDP Mini with the JLR module and pulled the KVM for a bench recovery. Read the HC908 processor on the board, recovered the original EEPROM data, generated a fresh key file, and wrote it to a new NHVWB1U241 proximity fob. Cut the HU101 emergency blade on site. Reinstalled the module, ran the full init through SDD/Pathfinder, and tested proximity unlock on all four doors, remote lock and unlock, push to start, and the blade in the driver's door.
Took about two hours, which is longer than a normal XJ key job. But the alternative was the car sitting on a flatbed headed to the dealer for a bill that would have been a lot uglier, plus downtime the shop couldn't afford.
I walked the shop tech through what went wrong so he'd know what to tell the next customer who asks about it.
