When a 2015 Jaguar XJ key is done wrong, it doesn't partially work. It fails. The KVM rejects the fob entirely, or the car starts once and refuses the key after a drive cycle because the ID49 chip data wasn't written correctly. On Jaguar, the immobilizer verification is strict.
