1995 Acura NSX
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

1995 Acura NSX Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A retired firefighter at the dog park near San Ysidro Village had been sitting on this problem for months. He picked up a 1995 NSX used, one key, and kept telling himself he'd get around to the spare. Then he called the Acura dealer.

The quote came back higher than he expected, and that was before any mention of leaving the car there. He called me the same afternoon.

I met him at the park while his dog was doing its thing in the grass. The NSX was parked right there on the street, low and silver in the afternoon light. I decoded the door lock, read the wafer positions, and cut a key on site to match what the lock was actually telling me. No tow, no service bay, no waiting room.

He watched the whole thing. I walked him through why I decoded the lock instead of just cutting to the factory code, and what worn wafers do to a key that looks right on paper but binds in use. He said he'd owned the car for three years and never knew that was even a factor.

The key turned clean on the first try. His dog didn't look up once.
