I used my ACDP to back up his immobilizer data before starting work, then cleaned the emergency blade slot, built and programmed a complete replacement fob, and tested every function on-site. His smart key, FCC ID , was a 3-button proximity fob that started his car on the first try.
His car started in that gravel lot, same spot it had been parked all afternoon. Total was around $95. A dealer would have charged $200 plus a tow from a location no flatbed could easily reach. He seemed pretty impressed it could all happen at a vineyard.
