She was in Ramona Highlands when her bag got snatched off her stroller. Car keys, wallet, phone, all of it gone in a few seconds. She borrowed a store employee's phone and called her husband, then the police, then me.
The car was in the garage. Zero keys. Her husband had already called the Audi dealer while she was waiting, and the news was not good. I got there that evening, worked from the driveway. Got into the immobilizer system with my diagnostic equipment, wiped the old key data, and programmed two new fobs. Cut the emergency blade for each one and verified every function, door lock, proximity unlock, and ignition, before I packed up.
She drove home that night with her baby. The stolen key is dead to the car. The dealer estimate would have meant a tow truck and a week of waiting. She didn't have either of those to spare.
