The call came from a woman parked in the lot right at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach. She'd dropped her only key on the pavement getting out, and the fob body had cracked clean along the seam. The key blade was still in her hand, but the remote was completely dead and she wasn't sure what was still functional inside the shell.

Then came the part that actually matters with these: verifying the transponder was communicating with the immobilizer. I confirmed the car recognized the key, ran through the remote functions, and tested everything before she put it in her pocket.
She went from a rubber-banded pile of plastic to two working keys. The dealer had been her first call that morning. They told her to have the car towed in and quoted her a wait time measured in days. I was done in under an hour, on site, in a parking lot thirty feet from the beach.
