She landed at the airport after a red-eye, walked to long-term parking, and her 2023 Ford F-350 wouldn't respond to the key fob because the CR2450 or CR2032 battery in the remote was dead. The car was locked, the emergency blade was inside her luggage in the trunk, and the trunk wouldn't pop without the remote. She was stuck at the airport with bags and no way into her own car.
She called the dealer. Earliest appointment was Thursday. It was Tuesday. She called a tow company and they quoted $180. Then she found EZ Car Keyz and asked if I could come to the airport lot.
I was there in 45 minutes. Once I got the door open, I used my IM608 to check the key programming status through OBD. Both her keys were still learned to the car. The issue was just the dead fob battery causing no remote response and no push-to-start wake. Her Smart Key with FCC ID M3N-A3C108397 was back working after a CR2450 or CR2032 swap and a quick reprogram to clear the fault code. She seemed pretty relieved when I told her both keys were still good.
She drove home that same morning. Total was about $294. Dealer would have been $498 plus $180 in towing and a Thursday appointment. She skipped all of that and was home before lunch.
