I was near the Encanto Border area on a Sunday when a woman flagged me down after church. She had already been through it once. A different locksmith had come out, taken her money for a 2025 F-350 key job, and left her with a truck that cranked and immediately died. Every time. The engine would catch for about two seconds and then the immobilizer killed it. The other tech told her the truck had a module problem and that she needed to go to the dealer.

I connected through the OBD port, cleared the stale key data from the failed attempt, and ran the enrollment sequence properly with the full security timer allowed to complete. Then I confirmed the key was written to permanent memory before I ever handed it back to her. All four buttons on the fob working. Engine starts and stays running.
She mentioned what the dealer had quoted. I won't put a number here, but she saved a good chunk, and unlike the first locksmith, I showed her the confirmation on my screen before I packed up.
