I'm already in National City with Ford key blanks, transponder chips, and programming tools loaded in the van right now. I don't order parts when you call. The HU101 blanks, the older H-key blanks, the aftermarket fob housings, the CR2032 batteries, and the emergency blades are all sitting in labeled drawers six feet behind my driver's seat.
A couple at the movies near Downtown National City on a Friday night came out to find their 2012 Ford Ranger wouldn't start. The key fob was completely dead and neither of them knew about the backup start procedure. They figured they'd have to leave the car there overnight and deal with it in the morning.
