2004 GMC Envoy
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2004 GMC Envoy Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Over in Libby Lake, a hiking guide got back to his truck after a long trail run and the key was just gone. Not in his pack, not in his vest pocket, not on the ground near the truck. His 2004 GMC Envoy was sitting in the lot, locked, with no spare anywhere nearby and the nearest GMC dealer a solid two hours out.

He had already called another locksmith before he found me. That first guy told him the ignition might need to be drilled to get the vehicle moving, and handed him a quote that made him step back. He called me for a second opinion.

I drove out to him in Libby Lake. Instead of drilling anything, I decoded his door lock directly, reading the wafer positions inside the cylinder to get the exact cut sequence for a new key. No damage, no replaced hardware. The lock looked the same when I was done as it did when I arrived.

From that decode I cut a fresh key blade, set up the transponder side so the immobilizer would accept it, and paired the new remote fob through the OBD port as part of the all-keys-lost procedure. The old fob, wherever it ended up on that trail, no longer starts the truck.

He paid a fraction of what the first locksmith quoted him for a drill job, and he drove home with a working key and a fob that locks and unlocks the truck exactly as it should. His original door lock is still in there, untouched.
