I used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data from the cracked fob's chip, which was still intact inside the broken housing. That saved time because I could skip a full immobilizer reset. I extracted the blade fragment, decoded the lock, and cut two fresh keys. Her fob, FCC ID SY5DMFNA04, was a 4-button smart key that I rebuilt into a new shell with the salvaged chip and board. I showed her the chip from the cracked key so she could see it was still good.
She went from zero keys to two in about 40 minutes. Total was around $267. A full AKL without the broken pieces would cost more, and the dealer wanted $466 either way. If you still have the broken fob, bring it. The chip inside a cracked Hyundai smart key is usually salvageable, which makes the job faster and cheaper.
