I got a call from a guy over in Buena Creek, Vista. He was parked at a friend's place and his 2016 Lincoln MKT had gone quiet on him. The fob just stopped working. No lock, no unlock, no response from the door handles when he walked up. He had already swapped the CR2032 himself. Battery was fine. The fob still would not pair with the car.

I watched the theft indicator on the dash the whole time. On a good enrollment, that light comes on briefly at key-on and then goes out and stays out. A fast flash means the key did not take.

Tested lock, unlock, and the remote start function from across the parking area. Three cold starts in a row, theft light behavior checked each time. Ran the trunk release button last.
