I was near the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach when the call came in. Rideshare driver, sitting at a tire shop, not going anywhere.
He'd already been through it once. Some outfit he found through a cheap Google ad had shown up, taken his money, and left him with a key that half worked. He asked what the dealer would have charged to fix someone else's mistake. I told him it would have been a real conversation. He laughed. We shook hands and he had a fare waiting.
