2007 Lincoln Town Car Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy in Eden Gardens, Solana Beach, late on a weeknight. He was a security guard, third shift, and his Town Car was sitting in the driveway going nowhere.
His only key had given up. The remote had been flaky for a while, and then the car stopped recognizing it entirely. He figured he was looking at a tow to a dealer in the morning and a whole lost workday.
I told him to stay put.
When I pulled up, the car was unlocked because he'd gotten in manually before the key quit fully. I connected to the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure. On these Town Cars, the immobilizer erases the old key data and learns fresh fobs in a single session. No tow. No dealer waiting room. The replacement remote head key was cut to the vehicle and programmed at the door.
He watched the whole thing from his front steps. When I walked it through the test, started the car, checked the lock and unlock buttons, and handed it over, he just said "that's it?"
That's it. Done in his driveway, way less than the dealer would have charged, and he made his shift.
