I got a call from a guy out near the Viejas Area in Alpine who had been fighting his 2006 Montero ignition for a few weeks. Not a full no-start, just the kind of slow-developing problem that makes you question whether today is the day it stops turning at all. Some mornings it turned clean. The ignition turned smooth on the first try with the new key. He saved a real chunk compared to the dealer quote, and he did not pay for parts he did not need. That is the part that stuck with him.
