I was already in Rancho Bernardo on another call when a smog shop in the area reached out. A customer had brought his 2009 Rogue in for an emissions check, and the car had a story behind it before he even pulled into the lot.

Power dropped at the wrong moment, right in the middle of the security handshake, and the immobilizer went into a fault state. The first tech packed up and left. The fob enrolled on the first attempt after that. The whole recovery took close to an hour and a half, longer than a clean same-day job, but the alternative was a flatbed ride and a dealer visit that would have stretched into the next morning at minimum.
The smog shop owner asked me what went wrong the first time. I walked him through the power-drop scenario so he'd recognize the signs if it happened again. That part took five minutes and cost nothing.
