The charity gala started in three hours. Her 2009 Porsche 911 was sitting at a venue entrance in Coronado, Naval Base Area side, and she couldn't get it to start. She was the event coordinator. There was a trunk full of auction items. Calling a rideshare in a gown wasn't happening.

She was running in under fifty minutes from the time she called. The dealer would have been a different story, closed that day and a wait whenever they could fit her in, at a number that would have made the auction items feel cheaper by comparison.
She made the gala. Greeted donors. Ran the whole auction. Nobody in that room knew a thing.
