I pulled in on a Saturday morning for a 2015 Porsche 911 with a cracked fob housing. The owner had discovered the crack after dropping it on a tile floor, and somewhere in the fall the internal contact board had shifted just enough that the key-not-detected warning was showing up intermittently at start.

I paired the new fob on site, tested every button, ran three clean starts from different distances, and confirmed the emergency blade was cut correctly to his door lock.
The cracked fob got erased from the system. No point leaving a damaged key registered that someone else could potentially use.
He mentioned he had called the Porsche dealer in the area first. They told him the key had to be ordered, and scheduling was two weeks out. He had found me before making that appointment, and we had the whole job done before noon. He walked back to his unit while I was still packing up the van.
